Peru: New Ministerial Cabinet sworn in

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Tuesday administered the oath of office to members of the new Cabinet led by Hector Valer Pinto, who will replace Mirtha Vasquez in the post.

The new Cabinet is made up of:

- Cesar Rodrigo Landa Arroyo (Foreign Affairs)

- Jose Luis Gavidia Arrascue (Defense)

- Oscar Miguel Graham Yamahuchi (Economy and Finance)

- Alfonso Gilberto Chavarry Estrada (Interior)

- Anibal Torres Vasquez (Justice and Human Rights)*

- Rosendo Leoncio Serna Roman (Education)*

- Hernando Ismael Cevallos Flores (Health)*

- Alberto Caytano Ramos Quilca (Agrarian Development and Irrigation)

- Betssy Betzabet Chavez Chino (Labor and Employment Promotion)*

- Jorge Luis Prado Palomino (Production)*

- Roberto Helbert Sanchez Palomino (Foreign Trade and Tourism)*

- Alessandra Gilda Herrera Jara (Energy and Mines)

- Juan Francisco Silva Villegas (Transportation and Communications)*

- Geiner Alvarado Lopez (Housing, Construction, and Sanitation)*

- Jhakeline Katy Ugarte Mamani (Women and Vulnerable Populations)

- Wilber Dux Supo Quisocala (Environment)

- Alejandro Antonio Salas Zegarra (Culture)

- Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra (Development and Social Inclusion)*

*Nine ministers from the previous Cabinet remain in their positions.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government Palace in Lima.


As is known, former Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez Chuquilin had been sworn in as Prime Minister of Peru on October 6, 2021. Yesterday, she tendered her resignation letter to President Castillo.
